FiCoMo Course

What Is FiCoMo?

FiCoMo is a way of understanding that Movements are not based on just a particular group of structures in the body to move. HEALTHY & INTELLIGENT Movements are a result of harmonious balance and integration between the Five major core areas , Five floors, Five human systems and the holistic internal elements of body, mind, heart and spirit. Seeing and understanding this extensive interplay of harmonious balance empowers a person to self-heal holistically so that one can help in the holistic healing journey of others.

Bio-psychosocial Model

Optimises movement with psychosocial factors and a leadership mindset.

Five Core Interaction

Connects key body areas and body systems for strong balance awareness and powerful movement wellness.

Five Core Movement Concept

We believe as Movement Specialists that we need 5 major core areas of our body to be strong in a stabilisation function to achieve the optimal network of body systems to move healthily. These 5 major core areas must connect or integrate harmoniously to become ONE strong CORE for stabilisation to produce beautiful, healthy and intelligent movement.

FiCoMo Modules

FiCoMo A

Five Core Movement (FiCoMo) is an approach that stems from the Functional Approach for Movement Care, Movement Performance and Movement Intelligence. It is a holistic approach that emphasises a way of understanding movement and posture stabilisation with the integration of the biological , psycho-social and spiritual elements of a human being. Integration of these elements in evaluation and intervention for healthy & intelligent movement is crucial as our movement system behaviour is strongly influenced by our belief system, perception and intent.

The clinical component of the FiCoMo A will introduce the network of the Five Core areas, Five Floors and Five Systems that are involved in harmonious balance for ideal posture stabilisation and movement. It will also introduce the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS) Approach by Prof. Pavel Kolar and emphasise its principle of development kinesiology & ideal intra-abdominal pressure regulation. It will progress to empower the practitioner/learner to evaluate posture from a more organic dimension of function rather than a structural dimension of alignment. It will follow through this evaluation with ways of improving stabilisation and movement with DNS principles & FiCoMo concept of ‘connect to engage.

The Leadership & Bio-psychosocial Component of the FiCoMo A will introduce key concepts of inner-self development. These concepts empower the practitioner/learner to be more perceptive and creative in leading themself and their patients/clients to a positive change that will influence the movement behaviour positively.
